Mitsubishi — Built for Desert Use
Mitsubishi's GCC lineup covers genuine extremes: the Attrage is a sub-1.5-litre city car that takes a compact DIN55, while the L200 pickup at the other end takes a heavy-duty Group 31 or 105D31L — nearly double the capacity. The Pajero sits in a similar heavy-duty bracket, and higher Pajero trims can run dual batteries for winch and auxiliary loads.
Most Mitsubishi models use standard flooded lead-acid with no BMS coding required. The Outlander PHEV is the exception: its 12V auxiliary is AGM (European DIN format, around 45-55Ah) and, while Mitsubishi does not require formal registration, the hybrid system does perform a charge-recognition step on the first start after replacement — we verify this before leaving.
The usual failure story in Dubai: Pajero and L200 owners running aftermarket lighting, winches or rear fridges overload the base-spec battery and see 18-month lives. We recommend stepping up to Amaron Hi-Life Heavy Duty or ACDelco Group 31 for those use cases — the capacity headroom pays for itself within the first summer.

The Pajero (V80/V90 chassis) typically uses a 105D31L or Group 31 heavy-duty flooded battery around 90-95Ah with 750-800 CCA. Diesel trims often run dual batteries — we check both before quoting.
Does a Mitsubishi L200 need a special battery?
The L200 pickup in GCC spec takes a Group 31 or 105D31L heavy-duty cell — about 90-100Ah with 800 CCA. Work-use L200s with winches or off-road lighting benefit from a Hi-Life Amaron or ACDelco Heavy Duty upgrade.
Which battery fits a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?
The Outlander PHEV uses a 12V auxiliary AGM battery (not the traction pack). Spec is typically a 45-55Ah AGM in European DIN format.
