The Hummer EV 12V Aux
Owners of the new Hummer EV are sometimes surprised to learn it has a conventional 12V lead-acid AGM battery. Like every modern EV, the main Ultium pack powers the drivetrain but a 12V aux runs the control electronics, displays, power-steering and safety systems.
The 12V aux typically fails after 3-5 years in Dubai heat — EVs do not alternator-charge it the way ICE cars do, so it sees deeper discharge cycles. We replace 12V aux units at your villa; we do not touch the HV pack, that stays at the GMC dealer.

What battery does my GMC Yukon or Yukon Denali take?
Yukon takes BCI Group 48 / H6 at around 720-760 CCA.
Can you replace the 12V auxiliary battery on my Hummer EV?
Yes. The Hummer EV has a conventional 12V AGM auxiliary battery separate from its 200+ kWh Ultium HV pack. The 12V aux powers lighting, displays, power steering and safety systems.
My Sierra has start-stop — does it need AGM?
2019+ Sierra 1500 with 5.3L V8 Active Fuel Management and 2021+ Sierra AT4 with automatic stop-start need Group 48 AGM around 760 CCA. Pre-2019 Sierras run fine on standard flooded Group 94R.
Can you fit a GMC battery at my office in DIFC or DMCC?
Yes — that is literally what we do. GMC batteries are large but straightforward.
Do you carry GDS2 for GMC BMS registration?
For 2018-onwards Yukon, Sierra and Canyon with intelligent charging we run GDS2-compatible diagnostic to reset the BCM battery-learning cycle. This prevents the alternator from applying old-battery charge rates to a new unit.
