Most Jeep batteries are BCI Group 65 or 94R flooded, but there are critical exceptions. eTorque Wrangler and Gladiator carry primary AGM plus auxiliary AGM. My Wrangler has two batteries — is that normal?
Yes on eTorque 2.0 turbo and 3.6 V6 eTorque Wranglers and Gladiators from 2018 onwards — the mild-hybrid system uses a primary AGM plus an auxiliary 12V AGM.
Which battery do you recommend for a Rubicon with winch and KC lights?
For an off-road Rubicon running a 9,500-12,000 lb winch, rock lights and aux rear cameras, we recommend an Optima YellowTop deep-cycle AGM. YellowTop tolerates the deep discharges a winch puts on the system far better than a normal starter battery.
Can you fit a Grand Cherokee Trackhawk AGM at my villa?
Yes. Trackhawk 6.2L supercharged HEMI demands high-CCA AGM H8 — the Hellcat-sourced drivetrain cranks very hard in 45-degree heat.
How long does a Jeep Wrangler battery swap take?
Standard JL Wrangler 3.6 non-eTorque is about 25 minutes. eTorque twin-battery JL takes around 40-50 minutes because both units are accessed and tested. Aftermarket dual-battery setups take longer and we quote those based on the install before arrival.
Do Compass and Renegade need AGM or will flooded do?
Compass and Renegade (non-start-stop) accept a standard Group 94R flooded battery starting from AED 395. Start-stop variants from 2019 onwards need AGM. We read the VIN and trim before quoting so you get the correct chemistry first time.
