How much is a Mazda diagnostic check?
A Mazda diagnostic costs AED 100 at our Al Quoz workshop. It covers the engine, Skyactiv-Drive gearbox, ABS, airbag, i-Activsense safety systems and body modules. You get a written list of codes with a plain explanation of each and our view on urgency. If the scan points to paint or body damage affecting a sensor, we include that in the report too, so one visit gives you the full picture.
Are you a Mazda service center?
No. Car Battery Squad is an independent multi-brand workshop in Al Quoz, near Exit 43 on Sheikh Zayed Road, and is not linked to Mazda or its dealers. We service Mazdas to the manufacturer's schedule using genuine or OE-spec parts, and you are told which before any work starts. Owners whose cars are within a manufacturer warranty should check those terms before using an outside workshop for repairs. After that, many CX-5 and Mazda3 owners move all their servicing to us.
Can you repair Soul Red Crystal paint so it matches?
Yes, but it takes more steps than a standard colour. Soul Red Crystal is a layered finish, so we build up the base and tinted layers on test cards first and compare them in daylight against your car before spraying. The repair is then blended into the surrounding panels so the depth of colour is consistent from every angle. We send photos of the test card match if you would like to see it before we continue.
Why has i-stop stopped working on my Mazda?
i-stop only works when the car decides conditions are right, and battery state of charge is one of the first things it checks. A battery that is ageing or not suited to stop-start use is the most common reason i-stop goes quiet. Engine temperature, AC demand and seatbelt or door status also matter. We test the battery under load, read the i-stop related data and fit the correct EFB or AGM battery if needed.
Is the Mazda Connect ghost-touch problem fixable?
Yes. On earlier Mazda Connect systems, a faulty touchscreen layer can register phantom touches, changing radio stations or making calls on its own. The fix is usually replacing the touchscreen digitiser rather than the whole head unit. We first rule out the commander control and connectivity module, which can cause similar symptoms, so you only pay for the part that has actually failed, and we confirm the fix with a full menu test.
Can you fix a scratch without repainting the whole panel?
Often we can. Light scratches that have not gone through the clear coat can be machine-polished out. Deeper marks and chips can be filled, levelled and blended into a smaller area, depending on where they sit on the panel. On multi-layer colours such as Soul Red Crystal or Machine Grey, blending usually extends a little further for an invisible result. We assess the damage and recommend the smallest repair that will look right.
How often does a Skyactiv engine need servicing in Dubai?
Use the interval in your owner's manual as a starting point, but most Dubai driving counts as severe: long idling in traffic, short trips and extreme summer heat. Skyactiv engines are efficient, yet their direct injection and high compression make clean oil and a healthy intake important. We recommend not stretching oil changes, and we check the intake on higher-mileage cars where carbon build-up can cause rough running or a hesitation when pulling away.
How do pickup and payment work for my Mazda?
We collect your Mazda free of charge from anywhere in Dubai, whether that is Al Barsha, Downtown or Dubai Silicon Oasis, and return it when the job is finished. You approve the quote by WhatsApp before any work is done. Pay by cash or card, or split the total into four interest-free payments with Tabby or Tamara, which many owners use for combined service and paint work on the same visit.
