Kia Sits on Hyundai's Platform
Kia and Hyundai share engineering teams, platforms and battery suppliers — so if you have owned both marques you will notice the electrical architecture is almost identical. Solite (Sebang Global Battery) is the factory cell on GCC-delivered Kia vehicles, and the charge management system is common to both brands. No BMS registration is needed, even on mid-size SUVs.
Petrol models use standard DIN sizing: DIN55 on Picanto, Cerato, Pegas; DIN60 on Seltos and K5; DIN65 on Sportage (EFB for ISG trims from 2022); DIN75/80 on Sorento and Telluride. The Stinger GT 3.3 twin-turbo is the odd one out — a high-CCA AGM H6 or H7 due to the turbocharged engine's cranking demand and extra electronic loads.
The EV6 and Niro EV each carry a low-voltage 12V AGM auxiliary battery (separate from the traction pack) which boots the car before high-voltage power is available. These fail at roughly 4-5 year intervals in UAE heat and require a specific AGM spec plus a power-cycle after fitment to re-establish the DC-DC link. We stock these and fit on-site.

Is Solite the factory battery for Kia as well?
Yes. Kia, like Hyundai, uses Solite (Sebang Global Battery) as OE supplier on GCC-delivered vehicles. We stock the Solite range plus Amaron, Varta and Exide alternatives if you'd prefer an upgrade or different warranty structure.
What battery does a Kia Sportage take?
Kia Sportage (NQ5) uses DIN60 for the 2.0/2.4 petrol (60Ah, 550 CCA) and EFB DIN65 for the ISG-equipped trim from 2022. Sportage Hybrid carries an additional 12V auxiliary AGM. Our mobile unit brings whichever spec your trim needs.
Do you service the Kia EV6 and Niro EV 12V aux?
Yes. EV6, Niro EV and Soul EV each carry a low-voltage 12V AGM auxiliary (not the drive battery). Ours is a specialist fitment because the battery sits under a service cover and the ECU needs a power-cycle to recognise it.
My Kia Stinger won't crank — is it the AGM?
Very likely. The Stinger GT runs a heavy AGM H6/H7 due to the twin-turbo V6 and start-stop load. After 3-4 years in UAE heat it can drop below the threshold the ECU needs for a reliable crank.
